D.J. lay in the empty, cold bed and stared at the ceiling. She should go and look for McCall. She didn't like him out of her sight. But for some reason she couldn't bring herself to get up and go looking for trouble. And "trouble" had to be Christian McCall's middle name.
Instead, she turned onto her stomach and pulled the pillow over her head with a moan. Her body hummed with unfulfilled desire, a situation she'd never had to deal with beforeand had no idea how to deal with now.
The pillow flew from her head. D.J. flipped over. "McCall, I" The words froze on her lips at the sight of Josie hovering above the bed. The angel drew back her arm and launched the pillow at D.J.'s face. D.J. caught the missile before it connected with her nose. "Hey, what are you doing?"
"I can't believe you blew it again. Honestly, don't you know anything about romance? How could you bring up diseases in the middle of making love? Babies I can see. That's kind of romantic, though I must admit just the mention can turn some men off, though I doubt Christian's one of them."
Josie paused in her tirade to take a breath, and D.J. took the opportunity to break in. "You were watching?" She sat up, grabbing for the bedspread when the covering slid down her bare chest. She clutched the material up to her chin, in no mood to argue with an angel while buck naked. "Listening? Hell, Josie, I didn't know you were a voyeur."
"Watch your mouth, young lady."
"Don't call me 'young lady' in that tone of voice.
